Why I love working from home

My home-based Remedial Massage clinic brings me (and my clients) so much happiness. And although, at times, I’ve considered branching out and opening a store-front, here’s why you’ll find me happily treating at home in Berwick Waters;

1. It’s cost effective

Instead of paying for dedicated clinic space, I'm able to keep overheads low by operating from our specially designed clinic space. It was more good timing than good management that had us building a home and establishing a business at the same time. But the planets aligned. And as a result, I don't need to add room rental to my treatment prices. Which means my clients pay less than they would if this wasn't the case. Bonus!

2. It's time effective

My commute to work is roughly 7 seconds! The happiness this brings me is off the charts. And a happy therapist who loves what they do and feels comfy in their work environment (and has good work / life balance) has to make for a better client experience. Which brings me to...

3. It's results effective Because I'm not locked into certain days, times, blocks and recovering sunk costs in room rental, I can treat when it suits me, and when it suits my clients. And I have the freedom to run overtime (like, pretty much every single appointment) when I find something awesome to treat, or a pain puzzle to solve.

4. It's comfy and welcoming For starters, when you pull up to the curb side, our two fluffy doorbells will already have let me know you're here. A quick knock, 20 steps, and you're in my sanctuary. Yes, it's a clinic, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be a heated table, calming music and even more calming essential oils diffusing. Plus, because I can set my own balanced schedule, I don't have the next client waiting outside, so there's time for a relaxed chat and time to adjust before venturing outside. 5. It's fully legit I've come from a compliance background (past working life), so it was important for me to have all the things in place; like Professional Association membership (I have two - Massage Myotherapy Australia + Australian Natural Therapists Association), Public Liability + Professional Indemnity insurance, Health Fund Provider status, on-site hiCaps direct claiming, EFTPOS, and a referral network with local practitioners and fitness professionals so my clients are receiving the best of care.

The only thing I don't have is online booking. Because I'm a control freak who likes to have a balanced day ;)

6. It's local

We're kind of in the perfect pocket, located right on the boundaries of Berwick, Clyde Nth, Cranbourne Nth and Narre Warren South, but I often have clients from outside the area travel too. Lots of Pakenham and Peninsula people come for a treatment, and I've even had clients come from Warragul, Traralgon and Ballarat!

7.
